2008 PARK JEFFERSON SPEEDWAY

The rules and/or regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. These rules shall govern the condition of all speedway events, and by participating in these events, all speedway competitors are deemed to have complied with these rules. No expressed or implied warranty of safety shall result from publications of, or compliance with these rules and regulations. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to a participant, spectators or others. 

All cars must be 4 cylinder, front wheel drive. All cars must remain completely STOCK bumper to bumper. Minimum wheel base 95 inches.

ROLL CAGE & BODY

1. All cars must have a minimum of a four point roll cage with three (3) door bars on left side and two (2) door bars on right side, cannot extend through front cowl.

2. All bars must be welded 360 degrees and gusseted. Bars must be securely fastened.

3. Front bars must follow the contour of windshield.

4. All tubing must be a minimum of 1 ½ “x .095.

5. Driver must have 2” of clearance above helmeted head.

6. The motor must be in stock location. Frames must not be altered for motor placement.

7. All bodies must be OEM steel and strictly stock. No altering or channeling of body allowed. No spoilers, wings, air scoops, etc. that alters the stock appearance allowed.

8. Full floorboards must remain intact and visible with a metal firewall separating driver from fuel tank and trunk area.

9. Firewall between motor and driver must be original with no alterations allowed. All holes must be covered. Stock dash with VIN number in place must be in original position and cannot be covered.

10. All plastic upholstery, rear seat, lights, mirror, chrome, plastic, glass and all flammable materials must be removed. No interior tin or other covers. No mirrors allowed.

11. Windshield must be removed and replaced with a full screen with four (4) – ½” window bars. Screen must have openings no smaller than ½” X
    ½” and no larger than 2”X 2”.

12. All doors and trunks must be bolted or pinned shut. Front hood pins are recommended.

13. No outside rub rails.

14. All cars must have an 18” high number on both sides and on the roof.
    Numbers must be easy to read.

15. Body must remain stock.

16. Wheel wells must remain in stock position. No cutting out of trunks or interior sheet metal. Only cutting allowed will be for placement of roll cage and fenders may be reasonably trimmed for tire clearance only. NO sharp edges.

INTERIOR

1. All interior must be removed except for the dash.

2. All dashes and VIN numbers must remain intact.

3. Bars within drivers reach must be padded.

4. No metal panels may be removed.

5. All holes in firewall must be covered with metal.

6. No boxing in of interior.

7. All air bags must be removed.

 

ENGINE

A.      ONLY 4 Cylinder Non-Turbo allowed. No V-Tec Engines.

B.      Must use stock exhaust manifold.

C.      Batteries must remain in stock location.

D.      Engine and all components must remain stock. No after market mechanical parts allowed. No Turbo’s. No performance enhancement parts allowed.

E.      Differential must remain stock.

F.      Pump gas ONLY. No additives.

 

SUSPENSION

1. No altering of any suspension components.

2. All parts must remain stock.

3. All parts and components must be in good condition.

4. NO four or all wheel drives permitted.

 

BRAKES

1. All four (4) wheels must have properly operating brakes.

2. No three (3) wheel setups or modifications.

 

WHEELS & TIRES

1. Aluminum wheels are recommended. Wheels can be no wider than 7 inches with standard bead bump.

2. Any steel right front wheel must be reinforced and oversized lug nuts are required.

3. All tires must be the same size and offset on all four (4) corners.

4. DOT Tires.

5. No winter or rough tread tires. No grooving or altering of tires.

 

SAFETY

1. Aluminum racing seat only. Head rest is recommended.

2. Must have a 5 point quick release racing harness (2002 or newer). Harness must be securely attached.

3. Approved fire suit, gloves and neck brace is mandatory. Hood,
   socks and shoes are recommended.

4. Full face helmet with lexan shield Snell 1995 or newer is mandatory.

5. Window net with latches accessible from outside car is mandatory.

6. Must have an operational fire extinguisher.

7. Must have a collapsible factory steering shaft.

8. Removable steering wheel is recommended. (Must be Metal Coupler).

9. Recommended that drivers door bars be plated with 1/8” aluminum or steel.

10. Fuel cells are recommended but if not used fuel tank must have a metal skid plate on underside.

11. Any car may be refused the opportunity to race if safety equipment is deemed unsafe.

12. No additional weights or ballast allowed.

 

ADDITIONAL RULES

1. Cars can be inspected at any time. All parts must remain stock and can be deemed illegal to race.

2. Cars will also be inspected for safety and can be deemed unsafe and illegal to race.

3. Tow hooks front & rear 3/8” cable minimum. Rule will be enforced.

4. Officials may remove any component from vehicle for further inspection at any time. If found to be illegal, component will not be returned.
